American Fisheries Society

Book Cover Design

Background

International Governance of Fisheries Ecosystems: Learning from the Past, Finding Solutions for the Future is a publication by the American Fisheries Society. It explores international case studies focused on the challenges and evolution of fisheries governance across a variety of ecosystems, including freshwater, deep-sea, and coral reef environments.

Objective

The goal was to design a cover that visually communicates the book’s focus on ecosystem-based governance in a clear and engaging way. As both the designer and illustrator, I aimed to create a professional and appealing design for a specialized audience of fisheries scientists, policymakers, and researchers.

Solution

I created a customized digital illustration that incorporates oceanic and ecological elements to support the book’s theme. The design features a monochromatic color palette and clean typography to reflect the academic tone while remaining visually engaging.
